BILL FISCHER currently serves as the Associate Dean
of Student
Life/Director of Student Conduct at Johnson & Wales University. His
primary responsibilities are to oversee administration of the student
conduct and conflict resolution system and to provide leadership in
the development and implementation of the Division of Student Life's
Risk Management Program. He also serves as Special Assistant to the
Dean for Student Life at Massachusetts Institute of Technology where
he provides assistance with project and initiatives in the Student Life
division.
Bill also holds adjunct faculty appointments at
Johnson & Wales
University. Northeastern University, and Suffolk University where he
teaches on the topic of law and higher education. His prior experience
includes serving as the Director for the Office of Student conduct &
Conflict Resolution at Northeastern University from 2000-2004; serving as the
Associate Director of Student Life for Judicial Programs at
the University of New Hampshire from 1998-2000; and serving as the
Assistant Director of the Student Judicial Office at Illinois State University
from 1997-1998.
Prior to his tenure in higher education, Bill was
engaged in the
full-time practice of law for approximately ten years in New Jersey.
He was a principal in the law firm of Matthews Wite & Fischer in Morristown,
New Jersey. Bill is an active member in the Association for
Student Judicial Affairs (ASJA), and has served on the Association's
Board of Directors foe four years, the last two years of which he served
as the Director for the Donald D. Gehring Campus Judicial Affairs
Training Institute. Bill earned his B.A. degree from Villanova University and
his J.D. degree from Seton Hall University School of Law.
