Nancy Geist Giacomini is an Associate with Conflict
Connections,
Inc. in Delaware and serves as a private mediator, group facilitator
and trainer with expertise in conflict resolution, problem-solving, building group
collaboration, and mediation in the higher education and
special education arenas. Dr. Giacomini earned her Doctor of Education Degree
from the University of Delaware in 2001 while working
as a Conflict Resolution Program Associate in the Institute for Public
Relations at the University. Additional degrees in Counseling (MA)
and Psychology (BA) served her as Delaware's Assistant Dean of Students for
Judicial Affairs for a decade.

Dr. Giacomini's most recent work includes developing
a process
for evaluating and building collaboration in Individualized Education
Programs (IEPs) while working in the Conflict Resolution Program
for the special education population and serving as a mediator for the
Delaware Department of Education in special education disputes. In
addition, she continues to remain active in the Association for Student
Judicial Affairs after enjoying leadership positions including co-chair
of the 1995 and 1996 Summer Institutes, program chair for the 1996
and 1997 ASJA Annual Conferences and 1998 ASJA President.

Dr. Giacomini is a contributing editor for Mastering
Mediation:
A Guide to Training Mediators in a College and University Setting
published by LRP and co-authored Perspective on Student Judicial
Affairs with ASJA past-presidents. She continues to serve the Association as an
annual faculty member teaching the mediation and conflict resolution curriculum
and consulting with ASJA to determine the
strategic direction of the Central Office.

Dr. Giacomini received the Donald D. Gehring Award for
ongoing service to ASJA in 2004. Additional honors include the ASJA
President's Award and the Trabant Institutional Award for Women's
