Welcome to the CAP Web site.
While every effort has been made to make our site easy to use, it is a relatively new service with us and one that is in a constant state of evolution besides! Following are a few notes that are partly based on customer inquirys and requests for assistance.
Site Organization
As the links on the left illustrate, our products and services are divided into:
Products: Monographs, Periodicals and Seminars.
On-Site Services: The Reference Desk, Site Search and Links
Ordering Monographs and Periodicals
Our shopping cart order system offers state-of-the-art secure shopping. (Click on the Secure Shopping link for full details.)
First, a word of explanation about our (and most other) shopping carts.
Think of our site as a supermarket. As you enter you can review the newspaper ads of specials, and even wander up and down the aisle, "just looking." (This is
when you are browsing through the descriptions of our monographs and periodicals.) Then, (quite quickly, we hope), you'll see something you like.
As you pick up that first item (by clicking on the "add to cart" icon), we, figuratively speaking, come running with a "virtual" (invisible but "real") "shopping cart" to put your first selection in. You've started your order -- which we hope you'll complete!
As in the supermarket, if you change your mind you have two options. You can just leave the cart and contents up some aisle and leave (the site) or "put back" (with your browser's "BACK" button) everything you put in your cart -- thus returning the empty cart as you leave.
This is where a problem can occur if you use the browser's ubiquitous "BACK" button to "go back to shopping" because it will (quite logically) put the items you have already selected and want back on the shelf! So, as the warning reminds you at the top of the order form, to continue shopping, use the "Continue shopping for . . . " "Monographs" "Periodicals" links on the left.
Order Information:
Information on a wide range of topics, from pricing, shipping and returns, to informational materials and discounts available to meeting groups, conferences and seminars is yours for the asking. As always, if you don't find the answers on this Web site, please let us know!
Seminar registration and Synfax Weekly Report Reprints
Because of differing requirements, orders for Synfax Weekly Report reprints and registration for CAP seminars must be placed on special order forms instead of the books and periodicals shopping cart.
On-Line Free Information
Our Reference Desk offers a variety of information . . . in many cases at no or a nominal cost to the viewer. Information presented ranges from analysis of topics of current interest to useful Case studies designed to assist higher education educators and administrators, a wide range of information is available.
Links
We are assembling a growing list of links of interest to higher education professionals. We will always appreciate sharing your favorite links with others at this site.
Site Search
We have included a search engine covering our entire site. Operating quite similarily to other engines, it will search our entire site, not just single links such as "periodicals."
